Happy Friday, Bibliophiles

It really warms my heart that, these days, when I have to assemble my big bag of can't-fail items to keep Josephine happy on a long car ride (which is anything longer than 20 minutes to her, unfortunately), at least 75% of those items I know will make her happy are BOOKS.

Okay, there are also a lot of snacks in there. She is my daughter, after all. And if there's one thing I've learned from monitoring my own behavior having a toddler, it's that if you think you have enough snacks, you DON'T. Pack more. Then pack even more.

But the books, you guys. She loves books. And I love that.

  1. Soon she will be begging you for spelling tests!

I had an English teacher for a parent as well. One of my favourite things to do was spelling tests and grammar lessons. I would get home from school and ask for more homework.

My parents loved it too, until I grew up and started beating them at Scrabble.

    1. Ba ha! I did the same thing. I asked for extra homework at school and then more at home! I love talking to other nerds. :)

  3. Lol, ALWAYS pack more snacks. :) Oh gosh, that's too funny about asking for spelling tests and more homework! Haha Thanks for your last comment on my blog. It's always good to know a strugglin' Mama aint alone! I hope things are far more smoother for you this time around.

    1. It's the truth, isn't it? Sometimes when we're away from home it's the only cure for what ails her! :) And no prob -- I hope it's better this time, too! Glad to know things, while crazy, are going well for you this time. :)
