I found Kiva Ford's shop through this crazy piece.  The amount of detail and patience involved in something like this?  Insane.

Heart in a Jar, Hand Blown Glass Miniature, $65

When I headed over to check out the rest of the shop, I learned that the thing I should have been collecting my entire life is MINIATURE BOTTLES AND VASES.  I loved every single tiny item in this shop.

Before we learned we were having a little girl, I thought if we had a boy I might do something with robots in his nursery.  I still love the idea, and every once in a while, I look for cute robot prints, and the other day I found some real winners!  I adore the robots over at Illustration + Paper Goods by Stephanie Fizer Coleman, and everything else there is great as well!  All of these prints are perfect for any child's room or playroom.

Lots of (Very) Important Information

Just when you thought you had learned all of my weird ways when I fessed up about the button obsession (P.S.  Thanks to all the nice folks who supported me in my button-y ways), let me remind you about this:  Remember how I wrote that post in 2009 about the Kit Kat flavors in Japan?  You don't?  Okay, well I DID.  However, the other night, on a whim, I decided to zazz it up a bit, and I added THIRTY freaky flavors to the list!

Starting off the list, my lovely mama has a shop, arlenemar, which she just recently opened.  She has about ten bazillion creative skills, so the shop might feature more of those in the future, but for now she is featuring sassified upcycled purses:

I found these pet beds on Love Nostalgic Whimsy a long time ago, and they are still some of my favorite things on the planet.  


Pet beds, made of vintage luggage, with part of the purchase price going to animal shelters.  How perfect is that?


If my cat actually slept on things I bought specifically designated to be cat beds, I would buy him one ASAP, but his track record is pretty bad in that category.

Alright, the ornament thing wasn't a fluke -- Etsy Saturdays are BACK, baby, and better than ever!  I'm starting out with a bang, showcasing Designed Designer: Avant-Garde Wall Decorator's shop.

I've gotta say, I'm absolutely crazy about these vinyl wall decals.  If we ever move into a house that has actual flat walls in the nursery instead of PAINTED WOOD PANELING (shudder), I am getting one of these for my baby girl IMMEDIATELY.  Take a look!

Look, I brought back Etsy Saturdays!  And don't even try to be a smart-ass and point out that it is TECHNICALLY not Saturday.  Because I know.  I'm not stupid, just unorganized lately.  I was going to get this together for Saturday, but instead I was sorting baby clothes and crying.  So ... there's that.  Now, the big comeback of Etsy Saturdays with THE BEST OF ETSY ORNAMENTS!!

I had every intention of highlighting all different types of ornaments, and only a few bizzare/funny/geeky ones, but ... well, we all should have seen it coming.  Take a gander, folks.

Starting us off, we have recycled blown glass, beautiful craftsmanship ... and a word that always makes me giggle, no matter what.
